So here was the day again. Our constitution day. The day many people associate with balloons, ice, flags and soda. The day started early... Very early. About 07.55, cause it was time to get the flag hoisted up. It was hoisted up with pomp and splendour. And we sung the national anthem. And of course we started to high, so it was impossible to reach the high notes so early in the morning. The kids ran in every direction, and they were very quarrelsome, as usual.
The breakfast was served and the scrambled eggs went everywhere.
After loads of this and that we were on the way to the city. And the kids were arguing and whimpered in the backseat.
Well in the city, we had to find parking space. So we parked outside Nature Historic museum in Bergen. And from here it went only downwards. Literally!
We went down the hill, and up to the theater. My God how many people. There were people EVERYWHERE! It should not be allowed. Baby carriages, Bunad, buekorps, screaming kids, busy busy busy! And we ended up in a pedestrian crossing. Would have thought we were in a highway. EVERYONE was going past us.
And the kids argued, pushed and hit each other, and us, and was absolutely completely impossible.
One snapped, and then everything started. The bustle about balloons, russe-cards and soft drinks were always present. I have never experienced such a strenuous 17 May.
Yet another reason why I should not have more than 2 children. And they should be behaving nicely. Otherwise, I´ll get crazy banana.
The parade lasted forever, and the Brann players came of course last. Handsome they were!
Took a lot of great pictures, and afterwards, the demands about balloons were even stronger.
Easier said than done, and Sunniva (my niece) disappeared. She was gone, so I was looking after the 2 impossible ones. Hooray! So I was soaked in coke, kicked at, spit on, chewed on, stepped on, etc.
After a lot of searching, Sylvia got a phone that Sunniva was found, and Sylvia collected her on her way up the stairs to Johannes Church.
Then it was FINALLY time for spring rolls and cotton candy. The day was not that bad after all ...
